MIKEL MISSING FROM MOURINHO'S FAVOURITE PLAYERS LIST

Chelsea midfield John Obi Mikel was not mentioned by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho when the manager listed his favourite players from the teams he has so far managed in his 15 year managerial career.

Mourinho was pivotal in helping Chelsea beat Manchester United to the signing of the Nigerian in 2006 but the Chelsea manager who also omitted one of his trusted allies in the past Mikel Essien who he coached at Chelsea and Real Madrid reckoned seven players are his favourites at the three top teams in top leagues he has managed.

Mikel is rumoured to be close to the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager but he was however not given a mention by the manager when he spoke about players who he considered as team men.

Speaking of players who give 'everything they can' with their efforts on the pitch, Mourinho said: 'People like Materazzi, Zanetti, Lampard, Drogba, Terry, Xabi Alonso, Arbeloa" He said

'Guys who were born to be at that level, born to be team men. Not the ego. Not super-quality as a player in some cases - but team men. The manager's right arm.'
